I was so very lucky to be able to photograph my dear friend, Clarisee’s daughter’s wedding. When I first saw she was getting married I somehow knew I was going to be shooting her wedding. Clarisee was my inspiration for wanting to be a photographer. When she passed away I did a shoot that she had been talking about previously and in a lot of my photos there were signs of her, sun flares and rainbows shining brightly throughout the photos. I took it as a sign that it was her showing her mark that she is still here watching over us. When I shot VeLora’s wedding I noticed so many of my pictures had sun flares and rainbows, signs that she was there watching over so proudly.

Dear Clarisee,

I know you were there today, I could feel your presence. Everywhere I looked all I could see is sun flares and rainbows, signs from you I know. VeLora’s first look, she was wearing your wedding dress. It could not have been more perfect. I could not help but think this was your moment. It was such an honor that it was me standing in your place. It was you who inspired me to be doing this 20 plus years ago. When toasts were given, I couldn’t get control of my emotions, your presence was so strong. VeLora is just like you, lighting up a whole room and all eyes on her. Bringing so much light into this world. She dances like you. I know you would be so proud. You are missed and loved every day. Thank you for choosing me to be apart of such a beautiful day, one I will never forget. I am dedicating this post to you. XO

A little romantic photoshoot captured on my film camera in Amsterdam of such a cute couple, Carl and Luz, with a few details in between. The old man by the bridge was my favorite. When doing the shoot, I noticed him taking pictures and started to talk to him. He was by himself and in the moment, passionately documenting his surroundings and what he found beautiful in life. I then documented what I saw as beautiful, him.
